So I got bumped up to first class on my way over, for free, just sayin'. I was welcomed onto Delta 238 with champagne (which I needed desperately because I kinda was freaking out while boarding b/c I forgot that ATL is an hour ahead and so it snuck up on me and my goodbye to my mother was kinda rushed). Had a four course meal... got a huge chair that reclined practically all the way and you could adjust it to conform to just about every part of your back and legs. Despite all that, I didn't get but like an hour of sleep. Something about sleeping while travelling... quite hard to do. I think it's because I woke up during a car trip in the backseat screaming after the guy driving had fallen asleep and hit the siderail and ran off the road. Since then I've never been quite successful at sleeping in a moving vehicle.
Anyway, Ineke and the daughter Caroline were there to pick me up from the airport. Quick drive from Schiphol to Rotterdam, had breakfast, and then got a biking tour of some places I needed to know how to get to. Also immediately received some BFF bracelets from Caroline kekeke. :)
We live on one of the bigger roads and its only like a five minute bike ride (if that) to downtown and central station. Haven't really had time to take a lot of pictures but I'll upload some soon. Also, I've made plans to meet up with some other au pairs this weekend, and with one tomorrow. Huzzah!
